hosting companies move away from their support of

Upgrade from
FrontPage - why do I need to do this? My
site looks and works fine...
FrontPage was last released back in 2003. Even
at this release date FrontPage was starting to get
out of favour with web developers as it required
special FrontPage 'Extensions' at the hosting end
(these allowed your web site to work and were a
Microsoft only quirk). With the evolution of
web standards, hosting companies are moving away
from the cost of supporting FrontPage Extensions.
Depending on the original design of your site - it
may 'work' for many years to come but may
look/display differently across different browsers
e.g. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft IE.
Microsoft replaced FrontPage with Expression Web, now on
release version 2. |
